【摘要】:Theuseofthisapparatusisintendedtoinducepropertychangesassociatedwiththeenduseconditions,includingtheeffectsofsunlight,moisture,andheat.Theseexposuresmayincludeameanstointroducemoisturetothetestspecimen.Exposuresarenotintendedtosimulatethedeteriorationcausedbylocalizedweatherphenomena,suchasatmosphericpollution,biologicalattack,andsaltwaterexposure.Alternatively,theexposuremaysimulatetheeffectsofsunlightthroughwindowglass.Typically,theseexposureswouldincludemoistureintheformofhumidity.Cautions8212;RefertoPracticeG151forfullcautionaryguidanceapplicabletoalllaboratoryweatheringdevices.Variationinresultsmaybeexpectedwhenoperatingconditionsarevariedwithintheacceptedlimitsofthispractice.Noreference,therefore,shallbemadetoresultsfromtheuseofthispracticeunlessaccompaniedbyareportdetailingthespecificoperatingconditionsinconformancewithSection10.Itisrecommendedthatasimilarmaterialofknownperformance,acontrol,beexposedsimultaneouslywiththetestspecimentoprovideastandardforcomparativepurposes.Itisrecommendedthatatleastthreereplicatesofeachmaterialevaluatedbeexposedineachtesttoallowforstatisticalevaluationofresults.1.1Thispracticecoversthebasicprinciplesandoperatingproceduresforusingopenflamecarbon-arclightandwaterapparatusintendedtoreproducetheweatheringeffectsthatoccurwhenmaterialsareexposedtosunlight(eitherdirectorthroughwindowglass)andmoistureasrainordewinactualuse.Thispracticeislimitedtotheproceduresforobtaining,measuring,andcontrollingconditionsofexposure.Anumberofexposureproceduresarelistedinanappendix;however,thispracticedoesnotspecifytheexposureconditionsbestsuitedforthematerialtobetested.Note1PracticeG151describesperformancecriteriaforallexposuredevicesthatuselaboratorylightsources.ThispracticereplacesPracticeG23,whichdescribesveryspecificdesignsfordevicesusedforcarbon-arcexposures.TheapparatusdescribedinPracticeG23iscoveredbythispractice.1.2Testspecimensareexposedtofilteredopenflamecarbonarclightundercontrolledenvironmentalconditions.Differentfiltersaredescribed.1.3Specimenpreparationandevaluationoftheresultsarecoveredinmethodsorspecificationsforspecificmaterials.GeneralguidanceisgiveninPracticeG151andISO4892-1.MorespecificinformationaboutmethodsfordeterminingthechangeinpropertiesafterexposureandreportingtheseresultsisdescribedinPracticeD5870.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.5.1Shouldanyozonebegeneratedfromtheoperationofthelightsource,itshallbecarriedawayfromthetestspecimensandoperatingpersonnelbyanexhaustsystem.1.6ThispracticeistechnicallysimilartoISO4892-4.
