【摘要】:Thispracticeprovidesforperiodictestingforresistancetowetconditionsduringstoragetocomparetherelativeperformanceofspecificcombinationsofcoatings,substrates,and/orpretreatmentsusedoncoil-coatedmetal.Theresultsmustbeconsideredrelativeanddonotindicateabsoluteperformance.Whenstoredimproperly,coil-coatedbuildingpanelstackscanbeexposedtorainwater,whichflowsintogapsbetweenpanelsbycapillaryactionorgravity,andremainsinthegapsbecauseofpoordrainageconditions.Suchaconditionisknownasax201C;wetstackx201D;andmaycauseblisteringandcorrosionofthepaintedsurfaces.Thispracticesimulatessuchimproperstorageconditions.Becausetheoutdoorenvironmentshowsyear-to-yearseasonalandgeographicclimatevariation,theabsoluteamountofdegradationbasedoncorrosionandblisteringmayvary(seeAppendixX1).Temperature,rain,humidity,andstoragepracticesareimportantfactorsinwetstackcorrosion.Corrosionandblisteringwillacceleratewithincreasedtemperature.Thepreferredtestlocationissouthof27x00B0;NlatitudeinFlorida.Otherlocationsmaybeused,butdifferencesintemperatureandmoisturemustbeconsidered,andtheamountofcorrosionandblisteringareexpectedtovaryconsiderablywithclimate.TestsitesmusthavetheinstrumentationtomeasureandrecordambienttemperatureandrainfallasinPracticeG7.Thispracticeisnotmeanttosupportthefieldstorageofcoil-coatedmetalinanywayotherthanwhatisrecommendedbythemanufacturer.1.1Thispracticeisusedtodeterminetheresistancetocorrosionandblisteringofcoil-coatedmetalproductsrelativetooneanotherwhenstackedoutdoorsunderdirectweatheringconditionsinwhichtheyarewettedbyrainanddew.1.2Thecoil-coatedproductvariablesevaluatedmayinclude,butarenotlimitedto,substrates,pretreatments,primers,topcoats,andbackers.1.3Thistestsimulatesastackedbuildingpanelbundlestoredatajobsiteinwetoutdoorconditions.Theresultsfrompanelstestedduringthesametimeperiodatthesamephysicallocationmaybeusedtocompareproductsasanindicatorofrelativefieldperformance.Environmentswithhighertemperatureandmoisturelevelsacceleratecorrosionandblistering.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotendorsethestorageoflevel(thatis,0x00B0;fromhorizontal)buildingpanelsstacksinwetoutdoorconditions.Levelstorageofbuildingpanelsisnotrecommendedandisusedinthisstandardforevaluationonly.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
